Acoustophoretic Volumetric Display (AVD)

AVD is one of the latest application of acoustic levitation. Any display, including the ones on your computer, tablet or smartphone uses after image effect on your eyes to visualise information on your screen. AVD uses the same principle, and levitated particle (about 1 mm) move rapidly in space under the illumination of RGB LED.

The image presented here, is an example of graphics rendered by AVD. Unfortunately, the particles are not displaced quickly enough to render the image on the right in real time (i.e. it takes 20 seconds to render the image -> 0.05 Hz, and we need at least 10 Hz). More works are needed to render AVD at a faster rate.
